Soldier On! would like to thank The Lloyds of London Branch of The British Legion (RBL) who recently committed to support our work for a second year running. Throughout 2012, we will be working together to further the aid available to British Armed Forces personnel. We are especially looking forward to joining forces on London Poppy Day, on 2 November 2012, which is organised by the Lloyds Branch. Last year the event provided The Legion with its largest ever donation from a single day’s fundraising of this kind – some £450,000!
Nicholas Harrison, Founder – Soldier On! said: “It is a privilege to have been offered the support of the last remaining trade branch of The Royal British Legion, we are very grateful. Working with an organisation that has such huge support from the City of London’s business community, provides a powerful and national network to increase the opportunities available to wounded, injured and sick members of the armed forces as they embark upon new careers within the civilian world.”
Duncan Welham, Secretary of The Lloyds Branch and co-organiser of London Poppy Day, said: We are delighted that the Lloyds branch is in a position to help Soldier On!, which is a most worthy cause and chimes well with our branch ethos of supporting not only the more traditional areas of the Legion, but also the new Iraq and Afghanistan generation. Moreover, the fact that Soldier On! will stand with us shoulder to shoulder on London Poppy Day is fantastic news and will no doubt support both our causes well.
